A Fresh Take on American Luxury
The 2017 Cadillac XT5 is the all-new compact luxury crossover SUV that replaces the SRX. While its angular styling looks similar to that of the SRX, the XT5 is lighter, more powerful, more fuel-efficient, roomier, quieter and more luxurious. It offers impressive handling and a new Sport mode, but that aggressive attitude doesn’t come at the expense of comfort. In addition, this luxurious, 5-passenger SUV’s tech-laden cabin gives passengers plenty of cutting-edge ways to stay occupied and connected to the outside world.
From our full review of the 2017 Cadillac XT5: “The combination of weight loss and increased rigidity made the XT5 more fun to drive, feeling confident and well-planted in twists and turns…The XT5 isn’t a sports car, but you can certainly have fun in it.”
One of the surest signs of the XT5’s new level of luxury is in the interior. The quality of the materials is excellent, the design elegant and clean and, best of all, the cabin is wonderfully quiet. There are plenty of tech features that’ll keep you in touch and aware of your surroundings, things like a new version of CUE connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a head-up display. The most innovative feature, though, is the Rear Camera Mirror. Push a button, and the entire frame of the rearview mirror is filled with what’s essentially a live high-resolution broadcast of what is going on behind the XT5, without headrests or the roofline getting in the way.
